Alphabet Soup Partner Typeface: Power Crit OUGD403

 Power Crit

In studio 4 we had a group power crit with five other members of the class. we presented what research we had come up with and gained feedback from our class piers and Amber and Simon. We presented our ideas and initial thoughts on how we would execute our typefaces that represented our partners.

  • Choice of Typeface- In the crit my tutors said it was important to decide which typeface i was going to use and how it will relate and tie in with the my design that represents my partner. I need to use a typeface that i will easily be able to reform and that will fit in with my chosen idea.
  • Size & Style - It was also made aware to me in my crit that it was important for me to know if i was going to keep my typeface lower case or uppercase also if i was going to have my typeface san serif or serif .
  • Design and Creativity - For the initial design idea I'm having a microphone to emphasise Jakes love for music i had to decide wether or not i was going to have it interlinking with some letters or have the microphone tied in and flowing from letter to letter. Jake loves Si Scotts work and i would of liked to do a typeface the same in the crit it was made clear to me that i wasn't to waste my time trying to a copy of an existing typeface and do something i had created that had a big focus point behind it.
