Creative Interests continued

In the studio in our blog groups we each showed and explained to the other members of the group the 10 images which we had selected that detailed our creative interests for graphic design..

We found that there was quite a lot of similarities between the 10 images that each individual person had chosen eg. tone of voice or detail. basically showing what types of graphic design they liked and how it reflected there individual work. As a class we made a list of 14 categories :-

We were then asked to choose 5 main catagories from the list and provide 5 examples of graphic design for each  i chose..

I found these designs on the grain edit website these designs are really simple minimalist, they use a negative space and geometric shapes.

These images are from my Tumblr blog. The first image is a Coachella festival poster its quirky and simple and gets the message across. I love the image of the 'boxed water is better' with monochrome colours and san serif font.

Creative use of type

I love the solid state image the way its been formatted to look like a little solid block with rounded sides. Also the poster above with the aggressive white paint 'feed your brain' reminds me of blood running down its been portrayed differently because of the color of the pant. My favorite image i found for creative type would have to be the typography piece illustrated using body parts. The veins that create the letters look amazing.

Form & Format

For format i chose to research into a few images of graphic design related images of triangles. I love geometric shapes and triangles are my favorite shape i love the sharpness and clean cut edges.

Personal Interest

These images are of personal interest to me i love bright illustrative design and geometric shapes. I especially love this poster with the chunky black type and shapes combined. Andy Gilmores work is a range of different shapes layers and colourful design.
