Message&Delivery MAIL crits-OUGD403

MESSAGE&DELIVERY:DISTRIBUTION-MAIL SHOT
For these crits we were put on to a table of 4 or 6 people and given a piece of paper with crit questions on and these were filled out by you and your partner and you repeated this for other peoples work in the class we filled out 3 pieces of paper for 3 other peoples work. I found this was a really good way of finding out with other people thought of your work. It was nice to have a partner to reflect on the persons work with.

The questions asked on the sheets were:-
Contextual Development-Is the message clear, can you understand what is being communicated?
Practical Development-Is the visual outcome appropriate to the message/tone/language and why?
Production-has he brief met the stock? dimensions of the envelope?
Purpose- What is the purpose of the mail shot and who is the audience.
Additional comments-

What people said:-

Contextual Development- yes its about cyber bullying
Practical Development- yes the keyboard in black is striking with cyber bullying in red impacting on us.
Production- yes , yes , yes
Purpose- to inform , audience at schools.
Additional comments- the font on the envelope may be considered more type writer than keyboard consider chaining to a gothic font.

Second pair-

Contextual Development-The message is clear even from just the envelope 'cyber bullying' on the back
Practical Development- It is clear and appropriate colours used are powerful red colour adds to bullying.
Production- yes , yes , yes links well with overall design.

Additional comments- maybe use a scalpel , over all really affieciant and appropriate to the target audience.

Last pair-

Contextual Development- people being cyber bullyed
Practical Development- yes i believe it is the colours are dark and work really well its quite serious and the red demonstrates this.
Production- yes and the stock is antique white. yes they are right.
Purpose- to inform you about cyber bullying. audience parents.
Additional comments-love the even lope its really cool. need something on the man to tell you can help/get involved.

Evaluation-
I loved this brief and think my outcome was really successful I'm really pleased with my crit feedback I'm glad it was obvious what i was trying to get across and how the colours were appropriate. I take on board what feedback i have received and would possible add more information into my envelope so that it was easier to get involved. I liked the stock i used but would have preferred to use card. Although somebody mentioned in the crit how i should change the typeface to a gothic font instead of the typewriter style font. I disagree as i kept it the same from my message and delivery posters. The font reminds me of a ransom letter font and i wanted the bullying posters and mail slots to incorporate that.
