Information & way finding
Information and way finding is using signage and pathways to get around. e.g.. on a website to navigate clearly and easily without confusion. Its also important that its aesthetically pleasing.






This way finding design is formal and informative , although its serious because its giving you information where to go the type used and how its painted on the walls is aesthetically pleasing.











This is interface design for a university online woodward campus. Its simple and sticks to two colours, its very easy to navigate. The audience would be for students and adults.






This foreign signage is used in a museum , they use the same semiotics as us so we know where the toilets are if we aren't from the same place or speak the language. 


I love the signage for this company environmental graphics , there all serious yet aesthetically pleasing and easy to see from a distance. The audience would be young adults and adults.

This toilet sign has been recreated to make the shape of a women using toilet sign women. I think its really clever and looks more interesting than your usual toilet door.

This signage is used to show you were to go to the capital suite , its really high and end and classy its smart and straight to the point.clean cut design with good use of type.



This is information and way finding from the tate modern. Its really large and bold because its a big museum its all really open plan and spacious. The information can be seen from a distance.

Garage in Melbourne Australia http://marywinfodesign.blogspot.co.uk/ This wall signage that has been painted on a garage in Melbourne Australia is amazing. The words are dragged up and along the walls in the primary colours. The words are in the appropriate places for the direction of travel.

Designed and executed by: Marius Holtmon, Mette Landsem and Madeleine Skjelland Eriksen - I love these bold numbers and arrows showing you were to go, the red colour really works with the pale stone wall.

Product and packaging 
Product and packaging - the packaging of a product is the storage for sale and distribution. It varies from large packaging to small packaging for sale storage and use.

This is packaging spring water infused with fulvic acid i thought it as INK , once the liquid has been used the white writing becomes less visible and you can see the black writing. Its been cleverly produced and works really well. I love monochrome and the use of bold affective type. I think the audience would be people who enjoy design and clever packaging.

This packaging i found on the designer daily website its for food lovers! the spoons have been made with pieces of string attached to the bottom so they represent roots. Its a clever way to represent a potato or a vegetable. The pasta is also been made so it represents something but this time it represents the empire state building in NYC.



This is my favourite type of packaging , using helvetica and really basic background, modernist aesthetic all left aligned. 


This packaging has the actually title on the tape. making it obvious and clever.

These aftershave bottles have a unique design using minimal labels that create a sophisticated and elegant look.

Fair minds is a fair trade co-creation platform in the Netherlands. It aims to get young consumers 18 – 28 year olds to participate in fair trade consumption, co-create with fair trade producers and activate others to start consuming fair trade products. 



Curious Design, New Zealand addressed the entire range of products for Phoenix, a organic beverage company. The range includes juices, spiraling juices and carbonated drinks.  The type used on the packaging for these bottles is playful and the colour of the text is appropriate to the colour of the drink.


Bangkok based multideciplinary studio, Farmgroup created a packaging and ad campaign under the global concept "Naturally Different"for Hoegarden, which includes a special edition package given to customers when they cumulatively order 10 pints of beer. The packaging is natural and made from stock which gives a natural and organic feel.

branding & identity design
branding & identity is something that is a symbol or a small image that consumers recognise by identifying the name, logo, slogan, or design of the company who owns the idea or image.


Imagine 8 is a production studio mainly for video production, DJ & event management. Inspired by the visual of TV test signal, BLOW designed the identity with different color combinations, as well as a series of application items. I love the use of geometric shapes and the placement of the circles.

I found this image on the pintrest website whilst looking for branding and identity images I'm not sure where its from but i love the use of handwritten text on the bread bag and the other items although its professional its still playful i would say the audience for this product would be 16+.




Gabbani one of the most famous Italian Delicatessen. An old family business that survived and flourished until becoming the state-of-the-art reference in the food industry. The 2010 new identity was created by Demian Conrad. I love monochrome colour theme and the use of negative space used on this
UK-based design and branding experts, created the naming, branding and identity for Stack Architects. The company was looking for a "fresh brand identity that would reflect its craft and, being a new organization, they also required name generation. I love monochrome colour and the use of geometric shapes.

Editorial and publishing design
Editorial and publishing feature such things as fashion, music , lifestyle health and beauty photography & cooking.Editorial design to me is the layout and style of a magazine , and publishing helps all this happen.




spring 2011 covers ID magazine is one of my favourite magazines it uses amazing photography combined with type. The layouts used in ID magazine are amazing and show aesthetic style in fashion and photography. The audience for ID magazine would be 18+ plus , definitely design students and people who are interested in fashion.

I love the use of shocking photography bold margins and the contrast of black and white & colour used for this rockers issue. The audience would be the same audience as I.D magazine and defiantly young women.

Introduction to Typography - this editorial spread done on Paul Renner has been created in this certain way to show his design practice. The audience for this editorial would be for people who are designers or already in the industry.
Editorial spreads highlighting the beauty in clothing and places that one would generally overlook. This magazine would have the audience of young people. And also people who enjoy photography. Retail is something that sells something , e.g.. a shop-  promotion is when your advertising a sale and a product.

Night billboard , This billboard is playful using the froth of the guinness as a light to give the impression guinness is amazing and good. The audience would be for adults and people who love guinness.

barber shop - This advertising is for a barber shop called fast Eddies it has a real authentic look to the design with screen printed type and small info graphic of eagle with combs for wings. The audience would be men aged 14 +

Footlocker Barcelona

Fred Perry at Westfield - This Fred Perry store in Westfield has a large fred perry logo using leaves to present it in the middle of the store. The store is spacious and classic its clearly for Fred Perry lovers and people who enjoy high end fashion.

I love this cafe is really nicely promoted with there use of screen printed type on the large boards.There good use of colour and type. This cafe would be appropatie for any audience especially for people who enjoy good design and typography.
