VIA CREATIVE STUDIO PLACEMENT
Luckily enough over the summer i managed to get my self a placement working at Via Creative a studio in middlesbrough. Due to travelling in the summer i only did a weeks placement at the business.
Who they are -
We are an established, full service design agency based in the fabulous Cargo Fleet Offices, Middlesbrough and we specialise in branding, graphic design, web design and marketing and possess a wealth of real experience and youthful exuberance that covers all creative disciplines. Whether it’s traditional graphic design or digital media (web design, ecommerce, social media) or print; it’s this experience that our clients trust and which has delivered real results for them.
From our studio in Middlesbrough in North East England, we work with companies ranging from small start-ups to big national and international organisations and we love the diversity and healthy mix of clients that our portfolio reflects. We have been delivering graphic design, branding and web based solutions to clients since 2003 and we always see ourselves not just as ‘hired hands’ but as a creative extension to our clients own team.

I did various jobs at the placement which mainly consisted of looking over documents tweaking things and designing logos and identities. I felt that everything i worked on was very corporate so i didn't get to do things maybe as creative as i do at uni. I also think because i was there for a week i didn't fully get to settle in as it was a short period of time. I am really lucky to have experienced working in the work place as it was the first time i have done it. It was a little daunting at times as i obviously still i have a lot to learn and want to progress as much as possible this year so i am at the best of my ability when i do go back into the work place after leaving in the third year.
The office i worked in was average size and had about 5 members of staff two of the boys who worked there were web developers. Everyone was really nice and made me feel very welcome. There was a lot of meetings held in there office over the week i was there and it was interesting to see how the creatives managed there clients. Everything was very professional and ran smoothly. They had a large screen used to display what was on there macs so the clients didn't have to crowd round a small space. I am really glad i had the opportunity to go to Via Creative although i wish i had been there for longer to get more out of my placement.
